The four-layer framework actually works because it forces teams to connect abstract goals to concrete timelines. Most orgs fail when they skip the "pillars" layer and jump straight from goals to initiatives, which is why roadmaps feel random. This visual makes it obvious that strategy isn't about complexity but about having the discipline to link each layer properly.

Absolutely agree- most of the chaos in product planning comes from skipping the middle layers. And the moment teams see the whole structure — goals → pillars → initiatives → timeline — the idea of strategy suddenly becomes much less intimidating. It's not about producing more artifacts, it’s about creating a clear chain of reasoning. Thanks for the thoughtful comment. This is exactly the mindset shift I hope more PMs start embracing.
